WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. The Item Level Upgrade used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the item level, however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item upgrade, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that are used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and other items. They are purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which displays an image of the item at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting an entirely new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety means. This is both a benefit as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3 the upgrade system was modified a bit, and some new features added. Once an upgrade has been completed to a certain level of item upgrader kit for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is even if those items are from another set of equipment.

The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests can only be spent on gear of a specific rank, and that each rank has different requirements for upgrading. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, depending on the type or gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons that have a high difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item level upgrade in the proper steps and paths.

The use of these currencies isn't that difficult, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to use them properly. For instance it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the Best item upgrade equipment available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to create. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
